"Swimming In The Dark" By: Tomasz Jedrowski
Author Tomasz Jedrowski takes readers back in time to the 80s, introducing us to a tantalizing protagonist living in Poland during a massive political divide. Themes of identity, love, and the polarization of political affairs are explored making this read a relevant one in time for Valentine’s Day.
Monthly Food Pick:
Holy Basil DTLA
Holy Basil elevates Thai food by taking comfort and innovation to new heights. Thai food is a staple of Los Angeles culture, with the city most notably having the only Thai Town in the nation; it’s my pleasure to highlight one of my favorite establishments. From the range of delicate and spicy flavors, there’s enough variety for all levels of foodies.
The Rigatoni Yellow Curry with Wagyu Beef ($20) is a major highlight. Serving as a balanced meal that fulfilled my love for curry and pasta.
The Green Curry Jidori Chicken ($16.50) was a spice lover’s dream, it’s a bowl that kicks the soul literally, but one I’d endure again.
